Following retirement from the position of Deputy Fire Chief (2 I C), St. John's Regional Fire Department, Gord joined the sales staff of Coldwell Banker Pro Co.
Gord has a strong background in New Home Construction and was a member of Atlantic New Home Warranty and Newfoundland & Labrador Home Builders Association. He was elected Councillor in Mount Pearl from 1985 to 1989 and served on the Land Use Development Committee and chaired the Water & Sewer Committee.
Gord has been a very active member of the community. He was involved in Minor Hockey for 12 years serving in various capacities including President. He was an executive member of the Mount Pearl Baseball Association serving in various capacities including President. He also served as Atlantic Provinces Director of the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Canada. Gord is also quite active in church activities.
